Corn and soybean markets are higher near midday as forecasts put hot weather in the Midwest and the Plains this week, with highs of 100 degrees or more expected in Kansas and Missouri on Saturday, while temperatures in the mid-90s should be common in the Midwest. The concern is the heat will stress corn that is pollinating.

The dollar is a little higher today but the currency remains near the 11-month low set yesterday.
