Grain futures survived a soft open across the board Sunday night to reverse higher, helping prices post modest gains overnight. Wheat attracted a little short covering after weekend rains were disappointing on some parts of the dry southwest Plains. Storms moving north of the Ohio River could stall planting in some parts of the Midwest early in the week, but overall conditions appear to be slowly improving. Outside markets are calm, helping ag markets focus on fundamentals.
