Mississippi State University research and Extension experts will provide information and demonstrations about agronomic research activities July 14 when the Pontotoc Ridge-Flatwoods Branch Experiment Station hosts its annual Research and Demonstration Tour. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m.

Experts from Extension, the Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station, and USDA will discuss topics such as crop management, using banded poultry litter as a fertilizer source, soybean growth stages, weed control systems for new seed technology, sweet potato research and glyphosate resistance management.

“We are encouraging producers to participate in this tour so they can gain the latest research information from MAFES and Extension experts. The event is also a good opportunity for networking and interacting with others in the industry,” said Mark Shankle, associate research professor at the North Mississippi Research and Extension Center.

Continuing education units have been requested for participants.

For more information, contact Shankle at (662) 489-4621.
