Mahindra Offers New 5520

Firm launches 55-horsepower tractors to compete in mid-size market.

Mahindra USA has launched a 55 horsepower series tractor with 2WD and 4WD models to compete in the midsize utility tractor market.

The mid-size utility tractor market has a new player in the 5520 from Mahindra. The tractors comes in 2 and 4WD and is powered with a four-cylinder in-line direct injected diesel engine. An optional loader is designed specficially for the 5520.

The 5520 is powered with a 3.38 L four-cylinder direct injection diesel engine and shifts through a 12X12 synchromesh transmission equipped with a forward-reverse synchro-shuttle.

The new tractor has an independent 540 rpm PTO rated at 45 hp.

The hydraulic system pumps 11 gallons per minute and features a Category I and II three-point linkage and a 5,100 lb. lift capacity.

Curb weight is 6,422 lbs. for the 4WD model and 6057 for the 2WD. Optional weights are available for both.

Convenience features include a large capacity fuel tank, suspension seat and retractable seat belt and rainwater gutter, a tool box, and an electronic instrument cluster.
