Western Farm Press and Penton Media are teaming up with the International Agri-Center, based in Tulare, Calif., to bring a new mobile app to the largest annual agricultural exposition in the world.

The new WAE 2012 Mobile App, which is sponsored by Trimble Navigation Inc., as a platinum sponsor and Air-O-Fan and Roto-Mix as green sponsors, will allow visitors to the 2012 World Ag Expo to have a wealth of information about the show right at their fingertips.

The new app will save you a lot of steps by allowing you to use your iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, Blackberry, Android or other web-enabled phone to receive up-to-the-minute news alerts and breaking information from World Ag Expo.

Need to know where a particular exhibitor is located or how to get to the Farm Credit Dairy Center? The exhibitor map on the WAE 2012 Mobile App can help you find those, or it can remind you of the time and location of the 2012 Hay & Forage or BEEF Magazine Seminars that you want to attend.

The app for the 2012 World Ag Expo, which runs from Feb. 14-16, will help you:

  • Navigate World Ag Expo using an interactive map.

  • Download exhibitor information.

  • Organize your schedule.

  • Stay in the know with show alerts and event schedules.

  • Read the latest information from the many WAE educational seminars.

  • Follow and join in on the twitter feed at #wae12.

  • Check out local dining options.

“The new WAE 2012 Mobile App was developed by Penton Custom Media and has been used at some of the largest trade shows in the nation,” said Greg Frey, vice president at Penton Media and publisher of Farm Press. “We believe this new technology will greatly enhance participants experience at this year’s World Ag Expo.”

Farm Press, a member of the Agricultural Group at Penton Media, publishes Western Farm Press, Delta Farm Press, Southeast Farm Press and Southwest Farm Press. Western Farm Press is a cosponsor of World Ag Expo and publishes the official Expo magazine and show guide.

“We’re pleased to offer a mobile app that will help our attendees make the most of their trip to World Ag Expo,” said Jerry Sinift, International Agri-Center’s chief executive officer. “The app allows attendees to plan their day by giving them a full schedule of events and maps at their finger tips.

“Ours is quickly becoming an application-driven world. Programmers are rushing to develop applications to make our business and personal lives flow more smoothly. You can find an application for almost anything, now there’s an app for World Ag Expo.

“All of the information about World Ag Expo will be in the hands of many of the most respected and progressive growers in the world. The WAE 2012 Mobile App will provide multiple link opportunities for visitors to connect with a company before, during and after the show.”

The mobile application will include daily alerts and breaking news; interactive floor maps; mapping to booths; activities scheduled; download capability (brochures, catalogs, etc); and social media interaction. The application will be available on all mobile platforms.
