Addressing nutrient management issues

Adaptive management is a new term used to describe methods of tailoring nutrient applications to crop needs. As Dr. Tom Morris relates in this interview at the Online Farm Network Conference at Iowa State University, USDA has helped establish a Nutrient Coordinating Committee on Adaptive Management for Nutrient Management. Morris outlined what’s being done to reduce nutrient runoff in major livestock producing areas during the recent conference, which is sponsored by the Iowa Soybean Association in Ames, Iowa.
