Quality horses and beef cattle will for sale at the Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station’s 29th annual production auction on Nov 17.

MAFES will market 34 lots of horses and 36 lots of cattle at the Mississippi Horse Park, located on Poorhouse Road south of Starkville.

Interactive video bidding during the cattle sale will take place at the Mississippi State University Extension office in Hattiesburg and the Central Mississippi Research and Extension Center in Raymond, Miss.

Attendees can bid on registered Quarter horse weanlings, Thoroughbred weanlings, ponies and riding horses. Angus, Charolais and Hereford bulls will be available, along with purebred open heifers and commercial bred heifers. All the animals come from the Leveck Animal Research Center, White Sands Research Center and the Brown Loam Branch Station.

The horse sale begins at 10:30 a.m.

A $5 barbeque sandwich lunch will be served at noon by the MSU Collegiate Cattlemen’s Association, and the cattle sale will begin at 1 p.m.
