Texas AgriLife Extension Service will host the Gray County Ag Conference “After CRP” on Feb. 25 at the Gray County Annex, 12125 E. Frederick Ave., in Pampa.

The meeting will begin with registration at 9 a.m., followed by the program from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., with lunch being provided, according to Brandon McGinty, AgriLife Extension agriculture and natural resources agent for Gray County.

Topics and speakers scheduled include:

-- “After CRP: Land Management with Wildlife in Mind,” Ken Cearley, AgriLife Extension wildlife specialist, Canyon.

-- “Getting CRP Back into Production,” Dr. Brent Bean, AgriLife Extension agronomist, Amarillo.

-- “Nutritional Values of CRP Grasses,” Dr. Ted McCollum, AgriLife Extension beef cattle specialist, Amarillo.

-- “Brush Controls,” McGinty.

-- “Farm Service Agency – Programs Following CRP,” Matt Street, Gray County FSA.

-- “Natural Resource Conservation Service – After CRP Programs,” John Wimberly, Gray County NRCS.

-- “Risk Management – CRP,” DeDe Jones and Patrick Warminski, AgriLife Extension risk management specialists, Amarillo.

-- Laws and regulations, Paul Weiser, Texas Department of Agriculture, Miami.

Continuing education units will be offered, but the amount and areas are pending, McGinty said.
