Livestock producers have two important conferences available this summer that will offer insights on production, marketing and disease management, among other topics.

Beginner Rancher

A Beginner Rancher Education Program, schedule June 9-10, is free and open to those who entered the ranching business in the last ten years. Learning new marketing opportunities will be a key element of the program. Check the Texas AgriLife website for details.

Beef Cattle Short Course

Oklahoma State University Extension livestock economist Darrell Peel will be a featured speaker at the Beef Cattle Short course general session Aug. 3, discussing the cattle market outlook and current supply/demand factors that beef producers will want to consider in maintaining their own operations.

The 2015 Texas A&M Beef Cattle Short Course runs from Aug. 3-5 at Texas A&M University in College Station.
