A tour hosted by the Tulare County Farm Bureau's Young Farmers and Ranchers gave growers and others an up-close look at Friant Dam and Friant Water Authority facilities, including the canal system that conveys water from Millerton Lake, south to the Bakersfield and Arvin areas.

Tour guides for the half-day event included representatives from the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation and Acting Friant GM Eric Quinley.

The tour gave participants a brief overview of California water and Friant division operations and offered tours of Friant Dam, a portion of the 150-mile long Friant-Kern Canal, and hydroelectric facilities at Friant Dam.
