Tier 4  engine update from AGCO

AGCO chose the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology for Tier 4 engines in its ag equipment. Tier 4 will be phased in starting in 2011, according to Andrew Holtz, AGCO engineer.

Next-generation engines

John Deere’s Tier 4 engine will use a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC)/diesel particulate filter (DPF) to reduce particulates and an Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) system to reduce the oxides of nitrogen.
