California's first farm equipment show of the year, Stockton Ag Expo, will be held Jan. 19-21 at the San Joaquin County Fairgrounds featuring about 300 exhibitors showcasing their agricultural equipment, products and services to growers.

Stockton Ag Expo is a “regional” farm show, drawing farmers and agribusinesses primarily from Northern California, Oregon, Washington and Northern Nevada.

In recent years, the annual farm show has become a “selling show,” permitting deals to be struck and products sold on the spot. “Our show is a centrally located arena where farmers can do some serious comparative shopping and buy, if they choose, in a short period of time,” says show chairman Jim Mulrooney.

Show hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Jan. 19-20 and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the Jan. 21. Admission is $5 for adults, $2 for children ages 6-12, and free to those younger when accompanied by an adult. FFA and 4-H students in uniform are admitted free. Parking is free at the fairgrounds.
