Goodyear Farm Tires has launched a new category called Extreme Flotation. These new tires offer a number of advantages, including tighter turn radius, a smoother ride, reduced soil compaction and better flotation.

Two tires are being offered in the Extreme Flotation category — the Goodyear Super Terra Grip XT 1000/40R32 and the Goodyear DT930 1100/45R46. Low Sidewall (LSW) technology allows the tire to have better lateral stability on hillsides, and it also reduces road lope and power hop.

The tires are an ideal substitution for narrow dual tires, particularly for no-till or minimum-till growers because of the reduced compaction.

Goodyear recommends placing the DT930 1100/45R46 on the rear of a front wheel drive tractor and the Goodyear Super Terra Grip XT 1000/40R32 tires on the front, which increases the contact area by almost 20%, greatly reducing ground pressure.

The LSW technology in the tires means they have a larger wheel diameter and smaller sidewalls compared to a conventional tire. This technology helps prevent recoil and improves the ride and stability.
