California growers have a desire to continue to conserve irrigation water and increase yields.  Advances in center pivot-irrigation technology including low pressure, energy-efficient designs and better management capabilities are making it a viable alternative for California growers.  A free workshop at Fresno State on Aug. 25 will include these center-pivot basics and economics and include a demonstration of the system in use in a silage corn block on the campus farm.

The event will include a panel discussion with growers who are successfully using the systems.  The program includes a continental breakfast and lunch. This seminar is part of a series of irrigation efficiency programs funded by the California Department of Water Resources and presented by the Center for Irrigation Technology at Fresno State.  The Irrigation Tech Seminar series is working to provide growers information on a variety of techniques and technologies to help with irrigation efficiency.
