Jan. 30: Arkansas Rice Council & Arkansas Rice Producers’ Group Joint Annual Meeting, Brinkley Convention Center, Brinkley, Ark. 10 a.m. to noon. Lunch to follow. Chuck Wilson, (870) 673-7541.

Feb. 3: 2009 Cotton Production Meeting, Northeast Research and Extension Center, Keiser, Ark. Mississippi County Cooperative Extension Service. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m. Meeting begins at 9 a.m. Updates on the latest in cotton production and marketing will be given by University of Arkansas specialists. CEUs available. Feb 3-4: Mississippi Agricultural Consultants Association Annual Meeting, Bost Extension Center, Mississippi State University campus. Grain crop production issues will be one of the main focuses of discussion. Presentations will be provided by Mid-South researchers and Extension personnel. Feb. 8 - 12: The Nature of Agritourism Retreat, sponsored by the Business of Birding Institute, Phillips Community College of the University of Arkansas, DeWitt, Ark. For farmers, landowners, lodge owners, hunting guides, community leaders and others with an interest in starting or expanding Nature Tourism as a business or in their community.
