“It turned out nice,” says Troy Johnson of the Morton Buildings shop-machine shed-office that he and his wife, Kim, built on their farm recently.

The Brookings, S.D., couple farm with Troy’s parents, Gary and Paula. Their kids, Warren, 18; and Kayelee, 15, are involved the cattle and grain farm, too. There isn’t much about the 81-by-185-foot shop and machine shed and the 24-by-32-foot attached office that they would change. “I just wish we would have built it a lot sooner,” Troy says, “but back then I probably wouldn’t have built it big enough.”
