Farm transition is a challenging process that requires careful planning.
University of Minnesota Extension is presenting 12 workshops on farm transition and estate planning this winter. These workshops are no cost to attendees. However, pre-registration is requested.
All workshops will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Dates and locations are:
Dec. 4, Cologne
Dec. 11, Pipestone
Dec. 19, Fergus Falls
Jan. 15, Roseau
Jan. 16, Moorhead
Jan. 22, Blue Earth
Jan. 29, Preston
Feb. 12, Floodwood
Feb. 13, Mora
March 4, Olivia
March 11, St. Cloud
Each workshop covers farm goal setting, business structures, business succession, estate planning and retirement, family communication, and additional farm transition educational resources. Farmers at any stage, from beginning to retirement, can benefit from the workshop materials.
This workshop is a partnership of University of Minnesota Extension and the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities. These educators also collaborate to offer multiday farm transition planning sessions, which will be held in Wabasha, Faribault and Alexandria.
