Two forms of boron are better than one

Boron is needed for proper plant growth, as it plays an important role in plant cell walls and the enzymatic system responsible for nutrient uptake.

A balanced supply of essential macro- and micronutrients is one of the most important factors to achieve higher crop yields. Boron (B) is one of eight micronutrients needed for proper plant growth, as it plays an important role in plant cell walls and in the activation of the enzymatic system responsible for nutrient uptake.

That said, boron deficiencies are widespread across North America. From a global perspective, B is the most common micronutrient deficiency after zinc. Yet boron is needed in a smaller amount compared to other essential nutrients and too much applied boron can become toxic. Because there is such a fine line between toxicity and deficiency, it is critical to provide crops with the right amount of boron at the right time.

When applied, granular boron is often included in a dry fertilizer blend. The low plant requirements for boron combined with the concentrated nature of conventional dry boron fertilizers typically result in limited effectiveness due to poor nutrient distribution.

Aspire®, the only soil-applied product of its kind, resolves this issue by combining two forms of boron with potassium in one granule for uniform nutrient distribution, season-long boron availability and maximum yield.

  • Uniform nutrient distribution – Using Nutriform® technology, Aspire combines two forms of boron with potassium in every granule to ensure the right amount of each nutrient is distributed evenly for maxium yield potential.

  • Season-long boron availability – Aspire delivers two forms of boron—sodium borate releases quickly, and calcium borate releases more slowly—ensuring proper boron nutrition is always within reach during key growth periods throughout the entire season.

  • Flexible application window - With the confidence of knowing that boron will be available to the crop all season long, farmers have the option to apply Aspire in the fall or spring.
