A cotton and soybean field day, featuring the latest information on crop production, will be held at the Edisto Agricultural and Research Center in Blackville, S.C., with registration beginning at 3:30 p.m.

A field tour, featuring researchers from the Edisto and Pee Dee research centers, will begin at 4:00 PM. Following the field tour, dinner and brief program will begin at 6:30.

Tour stops include:

• Irrigation management in row crops, Jose Payero;

• Brake herbicide use in cotton, Mike Marshall;

• Cotton insect management, Jeremy Greene;

• Nitrogen management in grain sorghum, David Gunter;

• Kudzu bug management in soybeans, Jeremy Greene;

• Liberty Link soybean weed management systems, David Gunter and Mike Marshall;

• Target spot in cotton, John Mueller;

• Interseeding cotton and soybeans, Ahmad Khalilian, Mike Marshall, Jeremy Greene and Tripp Williamson.

Pesticide and CCA credits will be available after the tour.

The annual soybean and cotton field day at the Edisto Station was once a part of an overall fall field day, but due to large crowds in recent years, it is now held separately from the corn and peanut field day, which was held in September.

The field day will allow growers to see results of several cotton and soybean field tests and get a chance to interact with scientists from the Clemson staff at Edisto Station.
