North Carolina State University Extension cotton agronomist Dr. Guy Collins has announced that the 2019 North Carolina Cotton Field Day is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 19 at the Upper Coastal Plain Research Station, located at 2811 Nobles Mill Pond Road in Rocky Mount.
Registration will begin at 11 a.m., followed by lunch from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. The official welcome will begin at 1 p.m. followed shortly by field tours from 1:30 until 4:30 p.m. At 4:45 p.m., attendees will hear closing remarks, and ice cream will be served.
“This field day, which is held every other year, is a large event that includes all involved in the North Carolina cotton industry. This field day will showcase the latest cotton research from North Carolina State University cotton research and Extension faculty and will cover a broad array of disciplines, including agronomics, weed science, cotton diseases, insect management, soil fertility, etc.,” Collins noted in an Extension posting.
