Meetings to answer "Actively Engaged in Farming" questions

Farm operators who might be affected by the new “Actively Engaged in Farming” regulations can find help at two June 29 meetings sponsored by the Mississippi Farm Bureau Federation and Delta Council.

USDA-Farm Service Agency personnel from Washington will review the changes in regulations and answer questions operators might have about the new rules.

FSA personnel who will be present include: Brad Karmen, Assistant Deputy Administrator for Farm Programs; Brent Orr, Risk and Production Program Manager; Mike Sullivan-Mississippi State FSA Office Director; and Kristi Gill, Mississippi State FSA Office Program Specialist.

The first meeting will begin at 9 a.m. at the Yazoo County Farm Bureau office conference room, 105 South Washington St., Yazoo City, Miss.

The second meeting will begin at 2 p.m. at the Coahoma County Extension Service office, 503 East Second St., Clarksdale, Miss.
