Cotton’s Brazil baggage

All of the major commodities are likely to face some difficult decisions as they begin working on the next farm bill, but cotton’s situation will be particularly difficult due to the WTO case brought by Brazil against the U.S. cotton program. Brazil negotiated a settlement with the U.S. government earlier this year. Brazil also can weigh in on the cotton program as Congress works on the new farm law. The National Cotton Council’s Gary Adams discussed the situation following his presentation at the USA Rice Outlook Conference.
