Field crops

Cotton conditions are mostly good to excellent. Harvest is 42 percent complete, behind last year at 52 percent, and behind the five year average of 48 percent in Arizona.

Most alfalfa is in fair to good condition. Harvesting is active on over two-thirds of the State’s acreage.

Vegetable, fruit, and specialty crops

Arizona growers shipped cantaloupes, honeydews, miscellaneous melons, and lemons.

Weather summary

Temperatures were mostly above average across Arizona for the week ending Oct. 31, ranging from 5 degrees below normal at Parker to 6 degrees above normal at Marana and Willcox.

The highest temperature of the week was 96 degrees at Marana. The lowest reading at 20 degrees occurred at Grand Canyon.

Precipitation was recorded at three of the 22 stations this week. St. Johns received the least at .01 inches of precipitation. Grand Canyon received the most at 0.13 inches. Fourteen of the 22 weather stations remain at above normal precipitation to date.
