<p>Farmer attendance was less than expected for the 2015 Coastal Plain Small Grain Field Day held April 23 at Forbis Farms in Lumber Bridge, N.C. because picture perfect weather allowed farmers to return to the field after a number of days of rain. Organizers were still pleased with the turnout.</p>
Concern about scab and Italian ryegrass and need for plant growth regulators in wheat led discussion at the 2015 Small Grain Field Day at Forbis Farms in North Carolina. Researchers from N.C. State University offered tips for control of the two pests.
A number of commercial and experimental wheat varieties are being examined at Forbis Farms by N.C. State scientists.
