“Be still and know that I am God. I am exalted among the nations; I am exalted in the earth!”  — Psalm 46:10

When we think of the Bible verse that states, “Be still and know that I am God,” we always think of sitting and being quiet. This is a great way to hear from God, especially if this quiet time follows personal time in the word.

How about observing God in the chaos? Stop and look around on your farm. It can be when you are searching for that baby calf that mama hid in the tall grass, or stepping off the tractor in a newly mowed field.

If we stop and be still, we can see him working at the busy food pantry distribution center or thrift store. Yes, he is using volunteers, but it is God working through them for his service and glory.

The walking stick ministry of the Fellowship of Christian Farmers is one place I have seen God. It is one I see on the participants’ faces as the message is presented to them, and “they get it.” Some will want to pray right then to receive Jesus into their lives, while others have had the “seed” planted in their hearts, and God will water and cultivate their soul.

As farmers we all know very well about planting the seeds and trusting God to bring it to harvest. So, in all the chaos of this world, remember to look, and you will see God at work.

He may be directing you to share something about him at that moment.

Please do.
