Smucker’s LandMark II GPS guidance system now has a new wireless display unit called the AgriVue Heads Up display. The new display may be mounted on a soft hat so the farmer or tractor operator has a constant view of navigational information. The data appear in a personal display within the wearer’s view. This technology frees the operator from distracting glances at a lightbar and also works well in low and bright light as well as noisy environments. The display is lightweight and compact. Pricing has not yet been set for the display.
The AgriVue display was developed through a venture between Smucker and Motion Research Corporation that integrated SportVue Pro Heads Up technology with the Hemisphere GPS system. Motion Research has developed the technology for wireless personal displays that are now used by military pilots and in motorcycle helmets.
