Results of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln wheat variety trials have been updated with 2017 data. Results are provided for irrigated and rain-fed trials conducted in the Panhandle, west-central and southeast districts and include one-year as well as three-year averages.

Yield and quality parameters were very good for all of the test plots compared to earlier years. Harvesting was however, complicated at some locations by late-season storms and hail. All plots were harvested except the irrigated trial in Box Butte County. The plot results from the trial in Furnas County were discarded due to inconsistency, probably resulting from early season hail damage.

Also, the 2017 Fall Seed Guide was recently released and is available online. It includes variety trial information on winter wheat, winter barley and triticale.
