Redfield Energy LLC of Redfield, S.D. has purchased ICM's patent pending Selective Milling Technology and patent-pending Fiber Separation Technology for their Redfield, South Dakota ethanol plant.

The new technologies from ICM are value-added platform technologies that increase ethanol yield and oil recovery.  SMT provides additional shear to a concentrated process flow of slurry, which contains starch and germ particles that have the highest opportunity for resistance to conversion or oil release.  FST removes fiber from a standard ethanol process which allows increased throughput and efficiency for each gallon of ethanol produced, and creates options for diversified co-products with high-protein feeds and fiber.

"ICM is pleased to help Redfield Energy take advantage of the benefits that SMT and FST provide to plants said Brock Beach, Vice President of Sales for ICM said. "SMT and FST are platform steps toward our Generation 1.5 Technology, and have proven themselves to the point that they are now considered standard equipment in the ICM ethanol plant design. We appreciate Redfield's confidence in ICM and are excited to continue working with them on their goals to provide economic impact to the agriculture industry, community, state of South Dakota, and Redfield Energy unit holders."

Tom Hitchcock, CEO for Redfield Energy LLC, said, "ICM continues to impress us with their passion to invest in the industry and help us improve our yields and bottom line.  Redfield Energy has worked with ICM on several projects in the past and each time, the return to our members is definitely worth the investment we put into the project.  We are excited to get the SMT and FST systems up and running, and for the opportunities provided for us to continue down the path of being a low-cost producer."

With the agreement for purchase and full-scale installation of Selective Milling Technology at Redfield Energy LLC, there are now 19 ethanol plants in North America either running or under contract to run ICM's Selective Milling Technology, raising total throughput for ICM and its partner in this yield enhancement technology, Fluid Quip Process Technologies, to over 1,900,000,000 gallons of ethanol production per year.

Redfield Energy LLC is the third ethanol plant to sign agreement for purchase, license to operate, and full-scale installation of Fiber Separation Technology, joining ICM Biofuels (formerly Lifeline Foods LLC) of St. Joseph, Missouri, and IGPC Ethanol, Inc. of Ontario, Canada.
