Join me at the 2017 Farm Progress Show! A show grounds bustling with activity and field demonstrations awaits you.

The show is Aug. 29-31 near Decatur, Ill. Load up the car with your neighbors and head on over. Or bring a busload of your closest friends — that would be even better!

Hoosier determination through the years helped make the Farm Progress Show the No. 1 trade show, not just the top ag show, in the country and even around the world. Thousands of Hoosiers flocked to shows at places like Chalmers, Columbus, Terre Haute and Tipton, Ind. Many Hoosiers made sandwiches, parked cars and did whatever it took to turn a cornfield into a giant agricultural show.

Today’s Farm Progress Show is still filled with Hoosier spirit. Thousands of Hoosiers will attend to see the latest innovations in the ag industry. Many companies choose to introduce their newest technology at the show.

For the past several years, a team of Farm Progress editors has searched for new products at the show. Even last year, with a downturn in the farm economy, our staff found more than 200 new products. Often company reps don’t even have brochures on these products — that is how new they are. We can almost guarantee you that if you comb the grounds, you’ll find more than one prototype of an idea or a machine that isn’t even for sale yet.

You will also be greeted by Hoosiers manning booths for Indiana companies. Some familiar names include Equipment Technologies, maker of Apache sprayers; Beck’s; CountryMark; and Hurricane Ditchers. Dow AgroSciences will also be there. Purdue University specialists assist in various ways, including with a soil judging contest for 4-H and FFA members.

The permanent show location allows you to enjoy amenities such as air-conditioned bathrooms, solid parking areas and paved streets. Many companies have graveled their display area for your convenience.

Don’t miss out on a chance to see not only the best of the best in agriculture technology now, but also a peek into the future. Depending on where you live, it’s still only a short distance to the Farm Progress Show.

We’re excited to help co-host the show. We will see you there!
