Farmpro is a new steering and application system that combines AutoSteer from AutoFarm with the Viper application control system from Raven Industries. Only one terminal is needed in a cab to handle the multiple functions.

“This all-in-one system for variable-rate and complete boom management, along with sub-inch accurate steering, will really simplify customers' lives in the field,” reports Paul Welbig, Flow Control Division, Raven Industries. The two companies have worked together on other projects, including Raven's QuickTrax steering system.

FarmPro provides many automatic steering and application control functions. Available steering accuracy ranges from Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS) to real-time kinematic (RTK) accuracy. FarmPro manages variable-rate control of up to five products and will provide automatic boom height and boom section control. Operators may create as-applied maps on the device and automatically calibrate steering and application functions. It operates at speeds up to 28 mph. The unit's 10.4-in. touch-screen display houses a Windows XP operating system. Data are transferred using a USB key.

The FarmPro system will be marketed by both companies and will be available through selected dealers. The suggested retail price starts at $23,000 and increases depending on other kits and options necessary. To contact AutoFarm, call 510/933-4800 or 877/947-7327 or visit www.gpsfarm.com.
