The Nebraska Women in Agriculture Conference is set for Feb. 18-19 on a virtual Zoom format. This annual two-day event is designed to educate and uplift women involved in any aspect of Nebraska’s agriculture industry.

Through workshops and presentations, attendees will learn how to better manage risk, improve their farms and ranches, and become more successful operators and business partners.

The conference tackles five areas of agricultural risk management, including production risk, market risk, financial risk, human risk and legal risk. The conference will be a hybrid event, offering both livestream and on-demand learning opportunities for attendees. All live sessions will be recorded for later viewing.

Keynote speakers include Brandi Buzzard Frobose, who has been writing and speaking about rural lifestyles — including farming, ranching and rodeo — and helping others share their stories. She operates a small ranch in southeast Kansas with her husband and blogs regularly about her experiences.

Elaine Froese also is speaking at the conference. She is a professional speaker, writer and coach who specializes in helping farm families work through issues surrounding succession, business or communication. She is a farm partner in Froese Family Farms near Boissevain in southwestern Manitoba, working with her husband and son.

Early-bird registration rates to the conference end Feb. 7. Regular registration continues from Feb. 8 until the event begins. The conference will award up to 50 scholarships to students and up to 10 scholarships to aspiring and beginning producers to attend the 2021 virtual event.

Any aspiring ag producer or producer with less than 10 years of experience; student attending a four-year college or university, a two-year college, or a vocational or technical school; or a 4-H or FFA member may apply for a scholarship to attend the conference.

Applicants will need to prepare an essay on “Why do you want to attend the Nebraska Women in Agriculture Conference?” The essay response is limited to 3,000 characters. Applications for scholarships are due by Jan. 31. Scholarship recipients will be notified no later than Feb. 5.
