The LSU AgCenter web log that follows the progression of a rice field at the LSU AgCenter Rice Research Station is again allowing internet visitors to see the management of a rice crop.

A webcam provides a real-time view of the field, and regular installments on the crop’s growth will be posted.

“This blog is viewed by people around the world, and it allows them to compare how rice is grown here with other regions,” said Steve Linscombe, director of the Rice Research Station.

Linscombe said the blog also will feature ongoing research by scientists at the station, including events such as the June 28 field day.

This is the sixth year the blog has been maintained, and installments from previous years are available online.

The address for the blog is www.lsuagcenterrice.blogspot.com. The link for the webcam is www.lsuagcenter.com/ricecam.
