The 2010 harvest of many California crops is late this year due in part to cool, wet spring weather which delayed crop development. As a result, northern California rice grower Charley Mathews says 2010 may be his most challenging year ever in the rice business. Mathews began his rice harvest in Yuba County the last week in September. Mathews tells Western Farm Press Associate Editor Cary Blake about his crop year and how his rice crop is looking good.
