Even though there is an oversupply of peanuts from large U.S. crops in 2012 and 2013,  growers may increase acreage this year because soybeans and corn aren't as competitive from a price standpoint as in years past. Dr. Marshall Lamb, research director at the USDA/ARS National Peanut Laboratory discussed the state of the industry at the annual meeting of the Mississippi Peanut Growers Association.
