The annual Peanut Field Day at the Marianna North Florida Research and Education Center will be Aug. 11 starting with registration at 8 a.m. (CDT) and ending with a sponsored lunch at the nearby Sunland Pavilion.
Registration and CEU sign in begins at 8 a.m. with field tours starting promptly at 8:30 a.m. Five tour groups will rotate through six tour stops. Topics to be addressed include insect and disease management, herbicide use, crop production, irrigation impact on plant development, and variety updates.
Speakers include Mark Abney (University of Georgia), Bob Kemerait (University of Georgia), Ethan Carter (UF/IFAS Extension), Ramon Leon (UF/IFAS), David Wright (UF/IFAS), Kelly Racette and Brendan Zurweller (UF/IFAS PhD candidates) and Barry Tillman (UF/IFAS).
This event has been approved for Florida pesticide CEUs (up to three), Georgia pesticide CEUs, and Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) CEUs. Alabama pesticide CEUs were requested but have yet to be approved.
