Five months after Omega Walnut began pouring concrete at its Orland, Calif. site in early 2012 they were accepting shipments of walnuts.
Two years into the creation of the walnut processing company the firm's ownership, growers and plant management gathered for an appreciation dinner at the plant.
Now the second phase of plant operations can be seen as a second tank farm nears completion and the company adds capabilities to its inshell line.
Further plans are in the works, according to plant manager Jake Cecil, including additional storage and processing capacity and plans for value-added lines.
