  • California walnut field prices last year (2012-2013 crop year) reached a record $1.52 per inshell pound. Prices for the 2013-2014 crop year are expected to substanially shift higher.

  • Unlocking the walnut genome in the next several years is expected to accelerate plant breeding and bring improved varieties to the market much faster.
