Cenergy Power has completed two solar photovoltaic (PV) systems - a 1.120 megawatt (MW) carport/ground mount and 560.28 kilowatt (kW) ground solar - for Setton Pistachio at company’s 300,000 square-foot pistachio processing facility in Terra Bella, Calif.

Setton is the second largest pistachio processor in the United States.

The newly constructed 1.7 megawatts of solar PV will produce over 2,600,000 kilowatt hours (kWh) of clean energy per year to sort, roast, and package millions of pounds of pistachios each year in Setton's processing facility.

This is equivalent to removing over 1,880 metric tons of CO2 from the atmosphere or planting 400 acres of pine forest annually.

"We take great pride in the special attention we pay to environmentally friendly practices and implementing new methods to reduce our carbon footprint while increasing the value of our products," said Lee Cohen, general manager for Setton Pistachio.

"We guarantee the best quality and service to our customers and partners by using superior techniques and technologies. Our decision to go solar with Cenergy was made simple by their outstanding track record and power quality capabilities."

Cenergy Power will provide 10 years of scheduled operations and maintenance for the system, including touch-free panel cleanings, preventive maintenance and repair, and overall system warranties.
