Humane Society of the United States CEO Wayne Pacelle resigned Friday amid sexual misconduct allegations. The allegations were first reported in the Washington Post and at first it looked like Pacelle would keep his job. But after donors began crying foul, Pacelle turned in his resignation.

The Washington Post reported January 29, 2018, an internal investigation of HSUS identified three complaints of sexual harassment by chief executive Wayne Pacelle.
Morgan Lewis personnel reportedly interviewed 33 witnesses, including three women who issued specific complaints against Pacelle. – animals24-7.org
Pacelle held onto support from the majority of the board on Thursday, Feb. 1, but by the afternoon of Friday, Feb. 2, donors and employees of the organization were distancing themselves from him and Pacelle resigned. – The New York Times
