Max Armstrong has been attending the Red Power Roundup this week in Grand Isle, Nebraska, where it has been very hot.
The Red Power Roundup is held by the International Harvester Collector's Club.
The International Harvester company was truly international when it was in business. There were 8 offices in Europe, one in Peru and one in Lebanon. However, the credit crisis in the early 1980's and questionable management practices put it out of business.
And the Chicago Street Race is making big headlines. Cars will reach 150 mph when the race is held in the city July 1 and July 2. While many are excited for the race, commuters and residents are not so happy. It has already created longer commutes with some streets already closed.
Plus, the police department there is getting days off cancelled. They will be needed to ensure safety at the race. NASCAR is helping with security and other race duties.
Max Armstrong's Farm Progress America is a daily look at key issues in agriculture. It is produced and presented by Max Armstrong, veteran farm broadcaster and host of This Week in Agribusiness.
