All across Iowa they are mourning the lost of State Patrol Sgt. Jim Smith. A 27-year veteran of the force shot during a standoff in Grundy Center, Iowa. At his church, worshippers gathered Saturday night to offer support to his wife and two children.

From this week in agribusiness: Those weekend rains were more than many of our farmer friends wanted to see during the planting season. The past 30 days were the wettest for Corn Belt as a whole in several years. Other areas are particularly dry.

South Bend, Indiana, will soon by harnessing hydroelectric power. It is expected to supply 7% of needs of Notre Dame University.

He visited Abilene Machine in Kansas last week.
