Max Armstrong explores news that the monarch butterfly is a candidate to be listed as an Endangered Species. Max shares all the work being done to help out this pollinator, but there are concerns that the Eastern population has fallen considerably. When it dropped in 2013, a petition was filed to add the butterfly to Endangered Species list. Many other species are higher on the list. Yet farm groups are working set aside land for this and other pollinators. In fact 500,000 acres have been set aside already.
Farm Progress America is a daily look at key issues in agriculture. It is produced and presented by Max Armstrong, veteran farm broadcaster and host of This Week in Agribusiness.
