About half of the current living Iowa Master Farmer Association members had not received the award when the Iowa Master Farmer Foundation was incorporated in 2002. Here we present a brief history of both organizations, plus explain the linkages between them. Iowa Master Farmer Award recipients  automatically become members of both organizations when they receive the award.
