Futures retreat as harvest, stocks report loom. (Video report)

Futures retreated overnight, giving back some of the gains from Friday’s rally.  Several weeks of hot, dry weather matured crops, which could increase harvest activity and hedge pressure this week. Traders are also getting in position for Friday’s report on Sept. 1 stocks, a release that generated some big price moves in the past. Outside markets are quick with investors mulling German election results.
