By early tomorrow afternoon, we'll have a better handle on interest rates. A quarter point rate increase expected. This is only the second interest rate hike in 10 years. The Fed has been signaling this move since the economy has rebounded some.

The American Farm Bureau annual meeting is in Phoenix, Jan. 6-11. Archie and Peyton Manning will be featured speakers. It is the largest U.S. general farm organization. 

Pump prices are well north of $2 a gallon in Chicago. Gasoline prices are on the march upward again as oil prices have jumped well over $50 a barrel. Unrelated to the price spike, some oil was spilled in North Dakota. It was found by a landowner. There were dead cattle nearby. It's unknown if the spill and dead cattle are related.
