Markets weigh weekend weather

Grain futures try to hold as rally fizzles. (Video report)

Planting is hit or miss so far in many areas this spring, helping support prices. But an open weekend could get more growers back into the fields, keeping a lid on grain markets overnight. Forecasts for areas that are behind turn wet next week as the crucial May 15 deadline passes for corn planting, and charts for all three major crops look like they are preparing for a move – either up, or down. Financial markets are pulling back, with the continued controversy in Washington weighing on the mood.
