Crops wilt, but relief on the way

Grain futures got a brief respite from selling on Friday with a small short-covering rally that evaporated when markets reopened Sunday night. Forecasts for rains in parts of the Dakotas brought back sellers, despite outlooks for next week that show hot, dry weather returning to many areas. Farmers and vegetation health maps continue to point to lower yields, but official crop ratings don’t yet reflect those concerns.
