The trading week ended on an upbeat note but the week's action provided no clear direction to the market. Ben Potter, senior editor, Farm Futures, shared that it was an up-and-down week for commodities sometimes working off news from Latin America.

Harvest is officially wrapped up, and the coming week offers no major reports, which gives the market little internal reason to move. That means growers holding onto their grain may keep doing that for now. Basis has strengthened recently even as end-of month deliveries rose. For farmers holding grain it's time for wait-and-see.
