Water has always been an issue in Texas, but the growing number of producers and urban dwellers in Texas is putting new demands on what is often a scarce resource. Glen Schur, a producer from Plainview, discussed how farmers and ranchers are using techniques such as “strategic” irrigation to help them find more profitable ways to use water. Schur was interviewed following his presentation at the National Alliance of Independent Crop Consultants annual meeting in Ft. Worth.
