Mark your calendars for the University of Wisconsin-Extension's Pest Management Update meetings scheduled for Nov. 9-19 around the state. This year's program follows the new format established in the 2014 series, with more interaction between presenters and the audience, and participation by Bryan Jensen and Dan Heider with the UW Integrated Pest and Crop Management Program.

The morning sessions' topic is integrated pest management updates by crop (corn, soybean, alfalfa, and small grains). This session will be streamlined to focus on new pesticide registrations, pest updates, and highlight important issues from 2015.

The afternoon sessions' topics feature specific updates and diagnostic training, including:
• Herbicide resistance update and identification
• Managing corn rootworms
• Soybean stem disease identification

Speakers include Mark Renz, UW-Extension/Madison weed specialist; Dan Heider, UW-Madison perennial cropping systems outreach specialist; Bryan Jensen, UW-Extension/Madison IPM outreach specialist; and Damon Smith, UW-Extension/Madison field crop plant pathologist.
